Plastic bottles are blow-molded. Most water bottles are made from a plastic called Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET). They are made in a two stage process. Injection molded preforms (test tubes) are made in a press and then cooled to room temperature. These preforms are then heated in a blow molder and high pressure air blows them up like a balloon. This this takes place in a closed mold which controls the final shape. This process is similar to blowing a glass bottle. You can find more information from other blow molding websites.

I absolutely agree with your statement. I remember the time when I came back on my job as a plastic maker. The process that we did together was plastic injection molding just like what you said.

Plastic bottles are firstly injection moulded generally it is called as Preforms .These preforms are later blow moulded with high temperature.
Huskey (Canada)is famous company for plastic bottle related machines.Polyetylene Terephthelate is the single raw material. This is a very expensive plant.Reliance India Gatronova Pakistan are the major suppliers of PET raw meterils. Huge shed required to run this plant clenliness (hygenic) is very essential.Fully air conditioned plant is desirable to run this plant.Pepsi bootles mineral water bottles,Juice bottles preferably use this PET.
