| Can you tell me the ratio of wood burnt to charcoal produced, ie. x pounds of wood makes x pounds of charcoal? |

| depends on the method of reduction and the type of wood, open burn produces a less dense coal than a closed burn method, while a mound burn produces different consistencies depending on the location in the pile if not done very carefully. in short there is no exact answer, even given a specific reduction method at a specific moisture content and of a specific variety it would still vary slightly. |

| Rat, cam you tell me what resources the lareg charcoal manufactures buy, where they get it and how much the raw materials cost? I am doing a cost analysis for Charcoal Brquetts. |

are any grill briquettes made in America anymore? Loks like China & South America are making it all-guess wood & labor is cheap there.
