Steel wheels are usally made of spinning flat sheet metal over a tool with a roller it's hard to explain in text. Look up "metal spinning" or "spun metal"
Aluminum wheels can be spun also unless your talking cast aluminum wheels which are as the name reffers, cast metal is poured into molds.
Then there is also forged which are cut out of billets. milling, water jet, laser cut. |

A wheel rim consist of two part..... a wheel and a disc.
Steel is the raw material here.
In case of a RIM, the steel strips are rounded, followed by butt welding, then deburring, flarring, profiling, volve hole punching..
For a Disc, the processes are blanking, forming, piercing,
Then the rim and disc are assembled to form a wheel rim |
